Goji Berries

Goji Berries is known as Wolfberries, which is a sweet-taste and dark-red coloured dried fruit, are mainly from north-western area of China. Chinese people stated to grow and consume it a few thousand years ago. At first, it is believed by Chinese medicine that it is good for liver and kidney channels and enriches yin. Along with other herbs, it is always prescribed to treat liver, kidney, or eye diseases in Chinese medicine. Besides, Goji berries are consumed by Chinese people in daily lives. They hold that this red berry can keep them healthy, young, and energetic. Thus, this fruit can be eaten directly as it is, or is consumed as Goji juice and herbal tea (e.g. with Chrysanthemum), with yogurt and cereal etc..

Nowadays, other benefits of Goji berries have been found all over the world. Goji berry is called the "Breakout Superfluity of the Year" in July 2006 in Time Magazine. Western countries such as USA, Japan, Canada and Europe etc. are more and more interested in this fruit. There are many nutrients including 11 essential elements, 22 trace dietary minerals, 18 amino acids, 6 essential vitamins, 8 polysaccharides, and 6 monosaccharaides in Goji berries, which were found by many published studies.

Besides, there are also 5 unsaturated fatty acids (essential fatty acids, linoleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid, beta-sitosterol and other phytosterols), and 5 carotenoids (e.g. beta-carotene and zeaxanthin etc), a xanthophy, and many phenolic pigments associated with antioxidant properties in goji berries. Up to 77% of total carotenoids exist as the form of zeaxanthin in wolfberries. The major constituent, Polysaccharides, represents up to 31% of pulp weight.

Owning to all of the reasons, it has become a super healthy fruit in the world.

Organic Goji Berries

It is hard to grow commercially Organic Goji Berries because it will take at least 3 years to prepare the land, along with other measures. Comparison with ordinary Goji berries in China, the annual yield of organic goji berries is still not significant. This may be caused by the fact that less land is ready for it. Therefore the organic goji berries are much more expensive than conventional goji berries

Tibetan Goji Berries

Tibetan or Himalaya Goji berries are the most kinds of goji berries present in the market. More accurately speaking, it is from the Qinghai/Tibetan plateau. This type of goji berries are larger in size and sweeter.

But the prices are different according to its quality. Our goji berries are of 180 grade, i.e. 180 berries per 50 grams. However, the much smaller goji berries is cheaper with usually 350 grade, i.e. 350 berries per 50 grams. Thus, please pay attention to the difference.
